Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information. If you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and, if you use "Continue with Google," basic profile information from your Google account (name, email, profile photo). We never see or store your password.
• Selected countries. If you're signed in, we save the countries you pick on our country-selection page, so you can come back and see your selection later.
• Basic usage data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and reliability purposes.
• Purchase status. If you buy a paid tier, we store which tier you're on, your access expiration date, and a reference ID from Stripe (our payment processor) that lets us look up your billing status. We never receive or store your card details; those stay with Stripe.
• Country selection and email, before you sign up. Our country-selection page and the free country self-help guides pages ask for your email and the countries you're interested in (up to five) before showing results, so we can follow up about them. This is stored separately from your signed-in account.

How we use it

We use this information only to save your selected countries, process your purchases, and keep the site secure and working. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with data brokers.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site:

• Clerk handles sign-up, sign-in, and account security (including Google sign-in). See Clerk's privacy policy.
• Stripe processes payments. We never see or store your card details. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Supabase stores your saved country selections.
• Vercel hosts the site and its infrastructure.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in securely. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and saved country selections until you ask us to delete them. To request deletion of your account and data, email us at the address below and we'll remove it.

Your rights (EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights over your personal data under the GDPR and equivalent UK and Swiss law. These include the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, request its deletion, receive a portable copy of it, restrict certain processing, and object to processing based on our legitimate interests. We process your data on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the account and reports you purchase), our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site, and, for optional cookies, your consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults exploring relocation options and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

As the site develops, this policy may be updated. We'll change the "last updated" date above when that happens.
